Scrolling Through the World
Roshni Chakravartty Chief Editor Contents |
The world is reaching us fast these days. We get a notification and see a headline on the screen, watch a video while scrolling late at night, and in a few seconds we know what is happening in places we have never been to.
It can feel weird sometimes. We are laughing at a meme and the next moment we read about something serious happening somewhere in the world. This big world feels very close and accessible. For people my age news is not just in newspapers or on television anymore. We see it between all the posts and videos we scroll through. We learn about what's going on in the world while sitting on a bus, waiting for a class to start or lying in bed at midnight with our phone screen lit low. Sometimes it can feel like too much to handle. That is why a space where people can be creative is really important. A poem, a story or an interesting article can slow things down a bit. It gives us a chance to stop, think and look at the world in our own imaginative way. That is what a magazine like this hopes to be, a calm place in the middle of all that noise. Inside these pages you will find thoughts, questions, memories, and interesting perspectives from different places. Some things might make you smile, some might make you think. Some might just make you look at everyday things in a new way. In a world that is moving fast with lots of updates and notifications, there is still space for reflection, creativity, and curiosity. So as you read through these pages, take a break from the consumption of unhealthy fast content. Stay here for a while. Explore the stories, poems and ideas, from and for the young minds who are also trying to understand the complicated and interesting world we live in. And who knows maybe you will find something in these pages that will stay with you long after you turn off your screen.
May these pages keep you company.
