Does drinking cold drinks cure acidity?

Many people suffering from acidity regularly drinks cold drinks and feel some relief. From this experience, a misconception has arisen that drinking cold drinks cures acidity!

Acidity is caused by an excess of hydrochloric acid, a digestive juice in the stomach. In people suffering from acidity, this excess acid erodes the stomach lining, eventually leading to the formation of ulcers. These ulcers are known as peptic ulcers.
However, ulcers do not form immediately. Initially, the stomach lining experiences mild erosion and inflammation. This inflammation occasionally causes stomach pain, a sour taste in the mouth, and improper digestion due to other digestive juices not functioning correctly. This entire condition is commonly referred to as acidity.
