Let Victory Be Ours

Kiranmoy Nandi

Have you ever seen a mighty axe,

Or a sharp blade shining bright?

With a handle carved from sturdy wood,

It swings with all its might.

Wrapped in layers of dark black steel,

Its strength grows with the wood it claims.

You and I feel powerful too,

As we play these careless games.

Flowers, fruits, and precious air,

Trees provide endless grace.

Yet with pride and thoughtless power,

We keep cutting down their place.

The highways will glitter, cities rise,

Buildings touch the sky so high.

Poisoned winds may fill the world,

But who will ask the reason why?

The axe handle now is weak and worn,

Will you still raise it in your hand?

Come, let us plant the greens once more,

And save our beautiful land.

Let forests bloom and rivers sing,

Let nature’s colours fill our view.

Together we can win the fight,

Let victory belong to you and me.
