MONIVA Sadhu
Your eyes will pop in wide surprise at what this land displays
Here, humans live in iron cages, trapped in zoo-like ways!
And animals buy tickets just to gawk at human plays.
Here lions flee in panic when deer come bounding by,
While cats and mice eat cutlets together, oh my!
And snakes and mongooses share a hole, with laughter in the sky.
A cuckoo's nest holds crow chicks, sleeping safe and sound,
At dawn, a cormorant teaches fish to dive and spin around!
Egrets and kingfishers cheer and leap up from the ground.
At Uncle Stork’s fine music school, the myna, bulbul, parrot
Take lessons in classical song, with raag and beat and garret.
And elephants just spread their wings and fly off like a parrot!
Old Ramgoat shakes his beard and hums a mournful raag,
While donkeys join him in full voice, no trace of shame or drag.
And foxes eat puffed rice with milk, on pilgrimages they wag.
The crocodile, when shedding tears, draws cows and sheep so near,
They comfort him with gentle words, and wipe away his tear.
A bear, when sick, gets cured by herbs ground in mortar gear.
If crimes occur, the cockroach court gets ready for the show,
The lizard bangs its tiny gavel, "Justice must now flow!"
And you can visit anytime, just close your eyes, and go!
