PIYUSH KANTI Sarkar
Howrah, West Bengal
Each day the crowded locals roar,
With tennis, cricket, accounts and more.
Busy men and women pressed,
Life’s a ticket-checking test!
Right on time, the checker comes,
Whistle blows and silence hums.
“Show your ticket, hold it clear,
Let’s set examples, my friends dear!”
The lawyer smiles, “Oh, I’ve a pass,
A monthly one, no need to ask.”
The checker grins, “Then show it, please,
Just kindly, sir, put me at ease.”
He pulls it out with cautious pride,
Holds it up and steps aside.
“There, you see? From far it’s fine.”
The checker frowns, “Please hand that line.”
“No way,” says he, “that breaks the rule,
I’m always law-abiding, cool.
See what’s written bold and able
It clearly says, Not Transferable!”
