What Fun It Would Be!

Gias Uddin Rupom

If our school could somehow be

A playground full of joy and glee,

No teachers there to scold or shout,

Or hand out punishments all about!

No more standing, ears held tight,

As everyone watched the sorry sight.

No more shame, no more despair,

No blushing face beyond compare!

No waking up at break of day,

To rush to school in a sleepy way.

What fun we'd have, what joy we'd win

Ta-ta-tata, dhin-dhin-dhin!

No tutor coming every night,

To keep our afternoons out of sight.

The time for games would all be ours,

With carefree days and happy hours!

No heavy bags upon our backs,

Stuffed with notebooks, books, and stacks.

Just running, playing, shouting with joy,

Every girl and every boy!

No studying hard, no tests to cram,

No pass-or-fail exam to jam.

What fun it would be, can't you see,

If such a world could truly be!
