The Light Fills

SHANKAR Kumar Chakraborty
Kolkata, West Bengal

A little white cloud drifts up high,

A flock of ducks soars through the sky.

The endless blue spreads far and wide,

As golden sunbeams dance in pride.

A weary kite glides to and fro,

While red and blue birds sing and glow.

They dream of forests, lush and bright,

Where rivers sparkle in the light.

Where does the wandering cloud now stray?

The curious eyes can’t look away.

The sky just smiles, soft and free,

For clouds must roam, their destiny.

The sunbeams stretch, the shadows play,

On leaves so green, they dance all day.

This world so warm, so fresh, so bright,

Fills my heart with endless light!
