MEGHADUT Ankan
Aurangabad, Maharashtra
The clouds called out,
“Will you drift with us across the skies?”
The river sang,
“Come, feel the currents where freedom lies.”
The bird whispered,
“Spread your wings and fly beside me.”
The kitten purred,
“Let’s chase dreams where the world is free.”
The mountains asked,
“Will you wander my rugged trails?”
The trees swayed,
“Swing on my branches; hear the tales.”
The wind teased,
“Let’s lift kites higher than we dare.”
The sea invited,
“Together, let’s find treasures rare.”
But I sighed,
“These dreams are not meant for me.
My heart is caged within these walls,
longing to break free.
Books and lessons consume my every day,
For a good boy has no time to run or play.”
If I dare to spread my wings under the endless blue,
Mother’s voice will echo,
“That’s not what good boys do!”
Tell me, little kitten, how can I truly be?
The weight of expectations has shackled me.
Does anyone pause to ask or understand,
What dreams may rest in a good boy’s hand?
