When winter arrives and shakes
The poor and destitute with ease,
Come, let us stand by their side
As friends in their needs.
In our homes, how many
Shawls and sweaters we keep,
While they spend nights on pavements
Embraced by winter’s chill deep.
We stay warm in winter’s grip
With room heaters aglow;
Let’s share warm clothes with them
To bring them comfort and hope.
We enjoy winter with sweets,
Molasses, and puffed rice delight,
While they shiver with empty stomachs,
Warming themselves by a wooden fire’s light.
In villages and towns alike,
Orphans surround us everywhere;
Think for a moment, let the light
Of happiness reach them to share.
